Does the institution have an on-site child care facility, partner with a local facility, and/or provide subsidies or financial support to help meet the child care needs of students, faculty, and staff?:

A brief description of the child care program, policy, or practice:

The mission of the LSU Child Care Center is to provide a high quality model of an early childhood care and education program for children six weeks of age through prekindergarten for the LSU community.

The vision of the LSU Child Care Center is to become a leading model of exemplary quality in early care and education by functioning as a support mechanism for families of the LSU Community and a focal point of excellence to agencies and organizations throughout the state and nation. By providing quality service, we will be recognized as a recruitment tool for students, faculty and staff, thus supporting positive growth at LSU.

Children six weeks to five years of age are eligible to enroll. Enrollment priority is determined by the following criteria:
1. Siblings of children currently enrolled at the LSU Child Care Center
2. Children of LSU staff, faculty and full-time currently enrolled students at LSU
3. Children of individuals with secondary affiliations to LSU (part-time students, part-time staff, adjunct faculty, LSU alumni, grandchildren of LSU students, staff or faculty, or individuals working for the LSU System.)
4. Children from the surrounding community
