LSU applies natural organics to the soil that increase humic acid, carbon, and other nutrients and beneficial organisms to more than 150 tree rings of nominal size of 60 feet diameter each year. Top dressing of the parade ground (6 acres) and other large field locations is done with compost and sand to build up soil health and reduce dependency on manufactured chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
