A brief description of the undergraduate degree program (1st program):

The B.A. in Environmental Sustainability will allow students to understand how to advance societies, and their cultural, economic, and technological activities, in a sustainable manner concordant with Earth’s natural systems. The program is designed to provide students with a liberal arts and sciences perspective of environmentally sustainable human interactions with the natural world. Students take common courses in biology, geology, the social sciences, and humanities and specialize in one of the following tracks: Biology, Geology/Earth Science, Social Science, or Social Science/Arts & Humanities.

A brief description of the undergraduate minor, concentration or certificate (1st program):

The minor in Environmental Sustainability at LIU Post offers students an interdisciplinary framework for assessing local and global environmental problems. Students in the environmental sustainability minor will examine the scientific, cultural, ethical, and policy aspects of sustainability. Course work offers students a range of professional skills for analyzing and creatively managing threats to environmental sustainability.
