Using food waste generated on campus, students have begun producing biodiesel and byproducts which will offset carbon emmissions and minimize waste. The fuel will be used to run smaller equipment on campus and evenutully to make soaps, patio torch fuel, or lip balm.

Lewis University officially dedicated its new 1-Megawatt solar array on April 27 at its Romeoville Campus. The 2,612 panels across five acres of land are now supplying the 410-acre campus with up to 7 percent of its power.
