Lewis University's Assessment and Care Team (ACT) reviews all reports. Concerns can be submitted online or contact our Campus Police Department.
If you are concerned about the health, well being, or safety of any individual on campus, you are encouraged to share your concerns or observations by contacting Student Wellness Center, Student Services, Campus Police, Human Resources or by completing the ACT (Assessment & Care Team) referral form
After a preliminary inverstigation, the response team will forward the information to the proper department contact - Romeoville Police Dept, Student Services, The Wellness Center

The Assessment & Care Team provides support, resources, referrals and response as appropriate with regard to potential or actual threats to the University community. Membership of the Team shall include representatives from:
- Office of the Dean of Student Services
- Academic Affairs
- Human Resources
- LUPD
- Residence Life
- Counseling Services
- Diversity & Inclusion
- Other departments as appropriate.
The Assessment & Care Team is responsible for reviewing information obtained from a reporting party, witness or observer. Additional responsibilities include reviewing incident reports, police files and/or complaints of threats or actual violence, reviewing patterns or practices which indicate a potential for violence, and serving as a resource to University officials or representatives as necessary. Meet regularly to provide post-incident assessments and evaluations and monitor on-going threat assessment and intervention activities. Provide resources, referrals and response as appropriate.

Lewis currenlty has a grant serving nursing students of color. We have a Speech Language program that works with underprivleged in rural communities. We host many camps for underprivleged students including - Tuskeegee Group, Project Go, Fe y Vida

Support for future academic staff
A brief description of the institution’s programs to support and prepare students from underrepresented groups for careers as faculty members:
The U.S. Department of Education’s TEACH Grant Program provides grant funds to postsecondary students who are completing or plan to complete coursework that is needed to begin a career in teaching. In exchange for receiving a TEACH Grant, you must agree to serve as a full-time teacher in a high-need field in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves low-income students (see below for more information on high-need fields and schools serving low-income students). As a recipient of a TEACH Grant, you must teach for at least four academic years within eight calendar years of completing the program of study for which you received a TEACH Grant. Eligible full-time students may receive up to $4,000 per year in TEACH Grant funds. These amounts will be pro-rated based on actual enrollment status.
