Project 1 - “Environmental, social, and governance premium in Chinese stock markets” - studies the evolving effect of corporate ESG performance on the stock returns in China's stock markets. Firms with poor ESG performance provide higher stock returns after the Paris Agreement. Published at Global Finance Journal: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1044028323000066

Project 2 – “Carbon Risk Premium and Regulatory Shocks” - investigate how investors price carbon emission risks in Chinese stock markets. We quantify the monthly carbon risk premium to range between 0.62% and 1.62%. We find that large firms and less innovative firms underperform in carbon emissions and that private firms outperform state-owned peers in carbon efficiency. (The manuscript has been submitted for journal review.)

A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:

The University lists faculty research on the Lewis University website. Information was taken from data listed there. Abstracts for the research projects are also available from that site. Each abstract is read to determine a connection to sustainability. If a connection is found, a follow up is made to the faculty/staff member to gather more information regarding the project. If it fits the criteria, they are counted towards this credit.
