A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
Every quarter, Human Resources offers an orientation for all new Lehigh employees. Through Spring 2020, a time slot was allotted for the Office of Sustainability to present on the following topics: Lehigh's sustainability vision (including all three aspects of sustainability), the sustainability plan, and mission of Office of Sustainability. In addition, 5 actions were presented that new employees can commit to in support of Lehigh's commitment to integrating sustainability into the fabric of the university (participate in mini-bin trash program, connect with social media for updates, learn about recycling streams, join the Sustainable Office Program, and adjust printing settings). These environmentally leaning actions are presented because other speakers cover diversity, inclusion and equity.
Starting in Fall 2020, the Office of Sustainability no longer gives a presentation, but rather provides key sustainability materials that are included in orientation. All attendees have access.
