A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):
All entering students (including transfer students) have the option of attending a faculty lecture during Orientation that addressed the issue of sustainability in the business field. We also offer a 3-day pre-orientation program for undergraduates (incoming students and transfer students) focused on sustainability called SustainabLEHIGH. New undergraduate students and transfer students also have the opportunity to eat at the First Year Student Orientation picnic, which has sustainability information, recycling, and composting. There were information sessions and resource tables with sustainability information on the Monday and Thursday of Orientation for undergraduate students and transfer students. The Office of First-Year Experience posted information about the Office of Sustainability on the Guidebook App, an app that hosts the Orientation schedule open to all students to download on a smart phone. Additionally, for graduate students, there was a graduate student resource fair and game night that the Office of Sustainability participated in. Through this event, the graduate students were able to gain knowledge about the Office of Sustainability and Sustainability at Lehigh in general. The Office of Sustainability also shared electronically a sustainability one pager as well as environmental living tips with all graduate students during orientation.
