Regional Sustainability Conference

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:

On February 8, 2014 the Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges (LVAIC), a consortium of six private colleges and universities including Lehigh University, organized a regional Campus Sustainability Conference hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. The conference included sustainability-themed presentations, interactive workshops, poster sessions and an exhibitor forum. The mission of the conference was to share the innovations, activities, frameworks, learning outcomes, tools, strategies, research, theory and leadership initiatives that are changing the face of sustainability across the Lehigh Valley’s higher education institutions. This conference was the most inclusive and well attended sustainability conference in Lehigh Valley in 7 years. Its success prompted the scheduling of 2nd LVAIC Sustainability Conference in 2016. Lehigh University will continue to be a member of the steering committee.
