Documentation to support the performance year energy consumption figures reported above:
---

A brief description of the institution's initiatives to shift individual attitudes and practices in regard to energy efficiency:

Beginning to assess and collect data with STARS.

A brief description of energy use standards and controls employed by the institution:

Centralized HVAC controls with occupied and unoccupied standards to reduce energy consumption.

A brief description of Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting and other energy-efficient lighting strategies employed by the institution:

LED lighting projects completed across campus. Currently replacing lighting as service life ends and during major renovations. 85% campus lighting is LED.

A brief description of passive solar heating, geothermal systems, and related strategies employed by the institution:

Where economical and grants available installed geothermal wells for athletic facilities. Roofing systems replaced with R22 and roofing type based on AC or no AC in building to reduce energy consumption.

A brief description of co-generation employed by the institution:

None.

A brief description of the institution's initiatives to replace energy-consuming appliances, equipment, and systems with high efficiency alternatives:

During major renovations recommission buildings with high efficiency boilers.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

Was unable to obtain a full year's records of electric consumption so an estimate was obtained:

2021 October - November, 1 month basis
241565 kWh
This number multiplied by 9 months (summer months are low usage months for residence halls)
Total = 2174085

The same estimate was done with the steam plant numbers. 3880 x 9 months = 34920

2021 Yearly cost of electric was $28,518.30
