Each year Human Resources hosts a professional development day for all staff and faculty. There are numerous breakout sessions on a variety of topics often including: Diversity and Inclusion, Title IX, Budget, Campus Improvements, Mental Health.

In 2018 Lawrence's Sustainability Coordinator attended an AASHE Hub workshop on Living Laboratories at Furman University.

Lawrence has one sustainability coordinator, whose responsibility is to promote a culture of sustainability on campus. Other staff, such as the Facilities Director and Campus Project Manager and Interior designer are expected to follow best building practices in major campus projects.
