LUCC, Lawrence University Community Council, is the governing body for the students made of elected and appointed students. Any student can sit in on the general council meetings or a committee meeting.

Representatives are elected by peers. There is one student that sits in on trustee meetings and that student is the President of the Lawrence University Community Council who was elected by their peers.

LUCC, Lawrence University Community Council, President sits in on the Board of trustees meetings, therefore that student has a say in the discussions that the board has which includes discussions about the organizational mission, new policies, and long term planning.
The appointed chair of the LUCC committee, Environmental Responsibility Committee, also sits on a committee with other staff and faculty called the Physical Planning Committee and therefor, that person has a say in conversations about physical resources. For example, right now, Lawrence is looking into the parking situation because there is a shortage of space for cars, but on the other hand, many people come to Lawrence with a car and need somewhere to store it.

The Staff Connections committee is a representative body of staff, and all staff members have input into viewpoints through their representatives. All-staff meetings are held each term as well with direct questions and input to senior leadership welcome.

One example is the Faculty Governance Committee which serves three basic roles: as a committee on committees, a committee on planning for all university activities affecting the academic enterprise, and a committee on faculty welfare

Lawrence has recently completed a refresh of is strategic plan which included faculty representatives in all aspects as well as multiple discussions of the full faculty on the final planning document. Faculty representatives participate in Faculty Governance, Financial Planning and Physical Planning shared governance committees, as well as numerous other faculty committees which are responsible for strategic planning and other aspects of Lawrence's governance.
