Environmental Responsibility Committee (ERC) is a committee under the Lawrence University Community Council (LUCC). ERC and the sustainability fee that every student pays went towards funding automatic LED lighting in the science hall. There is also the Physical Planning Committee.

The purpose of the Environmental Responsibility Committee is to promote understanding and awareness of environmental responsibility within the Lawrence community and to sponsor educational programs on environmental responsibility. By working on projects initiated by its own members, as well as sponsoring projects/initiatives of students of Lawrence through the ERC grant, the environmental responsibility committee attempts to draw attention to the importance of environmental sustainability at Lawrence and its impact on the world. The ERC is a place for committee members and students to recognize the problems of environmental responsibility that Lawrence University faces and attempt to solve them. The Sustainability Fund Administration & Oversight Committee serves under ERC, which is tasked with administration of the revolving sustainability fund established on a five year pilot. The committee has worked closely with ERC in the past and is expected to merge to form a single committee.
The Physical Planning Committee discusses maintenance, renovation and change to the existing infrastructure and facilities at Lawrence University as well as campus sustainability initiatives
