A brief description of the institution’s sustainability partnerships with the local community:

Representatives from the university meet regularly with city leaders to discuss a range of issues, including sustainability. Sample agenda items include city/university collaboration on electronics recycling and biological species inventories. In addition, students from the Sustainable Lawrence University Garden regularly partner with local schools, both to give tours of Lawrence's garden, but also to help local students start gardens at their own schools.
The Volunteer and Community Service Center also has partnerships with local agencies with a sustainability focus, with students regularly volunteering and recruiting other student volunteers.
