A list of new construction and major renovation projects that indicates the green building code, policy/guideline, or rating system that applies to each building:
Langara has a total of four LEED Gold Certified building; and with addition of the Science & Technology (S&T) Building, 40% of the campus is made up of LEED Gold Buildings.
The Science and Technology (T) building (completed in 2017) received LEED Gold certification in 2019, and is the most recent addition to Langara's list of LEED Gold certified buildings. Sustainability features of the T Building include:
- Protected a landscaped area from future development equal to the building footprint (2,087 m2)
- Modeled to save the equivalent of an Olympic swimming pool of water each year through washroom fixture efficiencies
- Innovative water-side heat recovery system that targets zero thermal energy waste and preheats domestic hot water
- Outdoor views in over 90% of the regularly occupied areas for greater indoor environment quality
The other three LEED Gold buildings on campus, which were constructed more than 5 years ago, are:
- Langara Student Union Building (LSU Building), 1,668 m2
- Library Building (L Building), 7,754 m2
- C Building, 5,671 m2
Together, these LEED buildings make up 40% of the campus area.
In addition to a LEED Gold requirement for new construction, Langara follows LEED BD+C principles for all new major renovations on campus, but do not require certification.

Historically, Langara has led the way in terms of green building policy in that it committed to have any new building constructions be minimum LEED Gold before it was required by the City of Vancouver. The new campus master plan lays out a strategy for moving beyond LEED Gold certification for new construction, looking to net zero energy and Passive House standards.
