A brief description of the employee educators program (1st program):

The Green Office Certification program consist of providing peer to peer training to an identified Green Ambassador in a department for that person to then train their co-workers on the initiatives needed to achieve Green Office Certification for their department.

All Lane Community College staff, faculty, and managers may apply. New this year: The certification is being promoted through the administrative program review process when programs write their self-study report.

Spring Conference

A brief description of the employee educators program (2nd program):

The event we know as Spring Conference arrives annually on Lane's main campus on a Friday during spring term. On this day, the College closes its doors to students in order to promote professional development and training for classified, faculty, and management staff in the form of concurrent, multi-disciplinary workshops that occur throughout the day, as well as providing staff an opportunity to network and meet up at lunch. During every Spring Conference LCC's Institute for Sustainable Practices provides break out sessions on different sustainability topics.

The sustainability break out session(s) are offered in order to promote professional development and training for classified, faculty, and management staff in the form of multi-disciplinary workshops that occur throughout the day.

Additional Programs 

A brief description of all other employee peer-to-peer sustainability outreach and education programs:

Fall In-Service Conference As we all prepare for welcoming our new, incoming students to Lane and as we continue to guide all of our students toward the successful progression and completion of their respective programs, the Fall In-service planning committee is working behind the scenes to plan for another inspiring event that takes place just prior to the beginning of the new term. Our overarching goal is to create an in-service climate that supports all staff at the college by providing educational workshops, lectures, and breakout sessions for classified, faculty, and management staff.

 

The Sustainability Committee offers a session focused on sustainability every year. A few examples of past activities include: bird box building workshop, campus tour of sustainability features, learning garden activities, etc.
