The College's Institute for Sustainable Practices is responsible for realizing Lane's core value of sustainability.
In 2006, Lane Community College (LCC) became one of the first signatories of the American College and University President’s Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), whereby LCC committed to systematically reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve carbon neutrality for all of its College operations across Lane County by the year 2050.
Lane Community College’s first Climate Action Plan was approved by the Board of Education in 2011. An update to the plan was published in 2018. The Climate Action Plan is a living document that serves as the College guide to achieve carbon neutrality; the document will be updated every five years.
LCC achieved Bee Campus USA certification in 2018.
LCC currently has four LEED certified buildings and is in the processes of certifying its fifth LEED building, this last one an Existing Building.
LCC has robust sustainability academic programs, such as:

AAS Energy Management
AAS Water Conservation Technician

Sustainable Campus Operations

LCC is committed to sustainable campus operations, some example of this commitments are the achievement of Bee Campus USA certification in 2018 and LEED certification of four of the College buildings.
