LCC has a number of diversity driven student and staff initiatives.
The development of a more comprehensive way of addressing diversity, equity and inclusion started in the summer of 2020. LCC's office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion has focused on two distinct areas: implementation of the Equity Lens and Cultural Competency Professional Development.
LCC also has an active Diversity Council and a Diversity Plan that needs to be updated.

As part of the assessment done and the implementation of the Equity Lens, deficiencies have been identified and are being addressed. LCC has a strong long standing student programming, clubs, organizations, the Multicultural Center, the Gender Equity Center, and our Equity based courses in Social Sciences, MCC and GEC faculty that teach and support students of color and LGBTQ student populations.

Results are shared via campus newsletter, email and discussed at campus-wide, council meetings that include students, management meetings, and with student groups on campus. Results are also posted on the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusions website.
