A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
During Welcome Day and the Resource Fair all new students have the opportunity to participate in an introduction to the college's campuses and resources. Students have the opportunity to tour the campus; attend workshops and other student activities; and visit with faculty and staff. Sustainability staff participate in these orientations to provide information about sustainability programming and initiatives, as well as ways that students can get involved. At campuses where we have learning gardens, students are also offered the opportunity to tour the garden and learn about volunteer opportunities. Students are presented with resources such as the Bike loan, program and Sustainability Committee.
