A brief description of the technology used:
Lakeland utilizes vending machine sensors. Technology used by vendors includes Energy Management Systems by elstat. A motion detector learns the operating hours and consumer
traffic patterns. The vending machine automatically adjusts the cabinet temperature and lighting to use less energy during slow/closed times and ensures products are cold and ready for sale when the college opens.
