A brief description of the student group:
The GREEN Group at Lakeland was formed for the purpose of promoting sustainability at the college and in the greater Lake County community. The group meets on a weekly basis to collaborate on projects and plan for the future. This group has started a Farmer's Market on campus that promotes local produce, local food products, and local businesses, with an emphasis on sustainable practices. Upcoming ideas for projects include improvements to Lakeland's current recycling program, a Lakeland-based food co-op and reductions in Lakeland's carbon footprint.
