A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability, including the issues, bills, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:

LUMS frequently engages in public policy advocacy. The Development Policy Research Centre is one way the university does this. The centre combines the disciplines of social sciences and law to strengthen evidence-based policymaking. The centre is structured to disseminate its findings through publications, seminars, workshops, conferences and policy advocacy forums.

Additionally, the Vice Chancellor and faculty members speak at various conferences regarding such issues (e.g. http://lums.edu.pk/news-detail/lums-vc-presents-at-global-thought-leaders-retreat-1131). Initiatives like the LUMS Initiative on Internet and Society (IIS) (http://lums.edu.pk/iis/) advocates public policy that encourage better utilization of cyberspace for Pakistan’s development, including projects such as Technology for the People (http://lums.edu.pk/tpi/).
