LUMS aspires to make quality education accessible to all students. Since inception, the university has been proud to offer generous financial aid packages to qualifying students in all its degree programmes. Currently, almost 50% of the students at LUMS are on some form of financial assistance.

University dining services offer food to all students, faculty and staff at cost. The student on-campus housing is subsidized and much more affordable than the housing in the University neighborhood.

University offers guidance to National Outreach Programme participants on admission process and testing in the welcome week. It also includes a host of other activities to enhance life and knowledge building skills.

Undergraduate financial assistance is provided at various levels (20%-100% tuition waivers). This also includes the National Outreach Programme (NOP) which provides full financial support (tuition as well as living) to students coming from the most economically disadvantaged households. Qualifying Masters' students are offered loan opportunities. Most doctoral students are offered financial aid packages that cover tuition as well as a living stipend based on a combination of available tuition waivers, research opportunities, work compensation, etc.

In order to fully harness the potential of the human resources of the country, LUMS has been trying to provide a broader access to its programmes across Pakistan. "National Outreach Programme" was launched in 2001, with the objective of providing educational opportunities to bright and talented students from smaller cities, villages and inner city areas of large urban centres, who are unable to meet the programme's regular fee requirement.
