A brief description of how the institution ensures compliance with sustainable building operation and maintenance guidelines and policies:
Our campus facilities and engineering department makes sure that all buildings on campus are operated and maintained in such a way that the health of the building occupants and the environment are protected. In doing this Facilities department takes into account sustainable operations and maintenance with a particular interest on the impacts to the surrounding sites, energy consumption, usage of environmentally preferable materials and indoor environmental quality.
Moreover we have an annual maintenance policy in which all campus building are reviewed from the maintenance point of view and maintenance is carried out accordingly before the commencement of new sessions. We have also developed a building management system in newly build School of science and engineering building for the monitoring and scheduling of HVAC system. LUMS electrical facilities department is also certified by The Electrical Inspector office, Energy department, Government of Punjab. Apart from that, we have an efficient power and gas smart metering system
