Does the institution host a food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource focused on alleviating food insecurity, hunger and poverty among students?:
Yes
A brief description of the food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource:
Beginning in Fall 2019, Pard Pantry provided food to Lafayette students in need. Over the years, the donation based Pantry has grown among the Lafayette community, giving students access to a range of items: school supplies, donations of food, hygiene items, housewares, and other essentials free of cost. The Pantry is an ongoing resource for students that aims to alleviate food and supply insecurity on campus.
In the transition to summer in 2023, Pard Pantry was used to redistribute cooking items to students staying over the summer from our Green Move Out process. This relieved a financial burden for working students and reduced waste from buying new. Food donations collected from Green Move Out were also redistributed through Pard Pantry.
