Sustainable Office Program Pilot
A brief description of the employee educators program (1st program):
In 2022-2023 the Office of Sustainability began to pilot a Sustainable Office Program for faculty and staff. The program's mission is to foster a community of sustainable habits across campus to decrease environmental impact and increase unity in our shared effort of sustainability. Offices who commit to the Sustainable Office Program will have the opportunity to showcase their sustainability efforts and improve upon them year-over-year. Their efforts will propel us closer to our sustainability goals and commitments as a college. Through the pilot, 3 offices have been identified and have participated including Gateway Career Center, Human Resources and Recreation Services. They have all identified a Sustainable Office Coordinator who will serve as a peer liaison for sustainable behaviors and improvements through their participation in the program. The Sustainable Office Coordinator receives training and materials allowing them to better understand impact and communicate it to their peers. The program will fully launch in fall of 2023 and number of trained educators will significantly increase. No formal website has been created as of yet, so I am including our general website link.
