Eco Declaration

As for Kyoto University's energy saving target, 1% reduction every year must be done through environmentally friendly behaviors by all the university members. To achieve this goal, “Eco declaration” site was developed. In this site, efficient behaviors for energy saving are listed so that university members can check the items they practice and understand their environmental efforts. If all the university members conduct the item listed in this site, it is estimated that energy can be saved by 10%.

A brief description of how the assessment was administered:

To promote registration of "Eco declaration", Office for a Sustainable Campus asks students to register during new student orientation. Also, faculty members in charge of environmental education call for students to be engaged in this declaration. The site calculates your possible reduction amount of CO2 after you check the items you do. The site can be accessed from a mobile phone as well.
