A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive experience(s) offered by the institution:

GSGES Asia Platform (The Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies)

The Environmental Management Course in GSGES aims to equip its students with the advanced knowledge and problem-solving skills they will need as internationally active specialists working to resolve environmental issues in the regional and global arenas. In keeping with the value the Environmental Management Course places on practical skills, an internship system has been incorporated as a compulsory part of the curriculum.
The GSGES Asia Platform provides comprehensive framework for collaborative research toward improved human security in Asian countries. Setting primary target areas in the central Vietnam and Hanoi city, various programs are designed and conducted focusing on disaster prevention, natural resource management, and urban environment. The platform also contributes to enhance education opportunities through internship programs and on-field lectures, and to implement community-based projects under JICA* Partnership Program and other related funds - conceptualized as "the synergy of research, education, and implementation." The "education" part includes internship program in Vietnam for graduate students and field study in Vietnam for undergraduate students. In this project, community house was built with traditional materials and techniques and now used as a place for internships and field research.
