The following two courses are offered through the Faculty of Continuing & Professional Studies:
Community Health Nursing: This self-paced online course will explore the roots of community health nursing in Canada and its evolution from the late 1800s to present day. The over-arching nursing philosophy of patient-centered care is the lens through which learners will gain an understanding of the settings, functions and the roles of community health nurses. This course incorporates community health foundations and principles related to health promotion, disease prevention and health program planning and evaluation aligned with cultural safety. The goal for learners is to demonstrate entry level knowledge and understanding of community health nursing in Canada. Content will include working with communities and populations across the lifespan, diversity and relational practice, Indigenous health, working with vulnerable populations, environmental health and disaster management.
EV Training Upskilling: This is an upskilling program for individuals who have already achieved their Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certification through SkilledTradesBC. The course is designed to prepare Automotive Service Technicians in safely diagnosing, servicing, and repairing high-voltage electric vehicles.
