Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Waste as a Resource/Share Shop /Shop & Swap

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

The college hosts a "There is No Away, Move Out" initiative at the end of the academic year and now at the end of every term, that collects items that might otherwise be taken to the landfill. In this initaitive we collect tons of materials that are then sorted and placed in our " Share Shop" Free Store. These items are available to all students, staff and faculty for FREE. The Share Shop is opened three times a week for and is volunteer run by our students in the Students for Sustainbility Club and other volunteers. In the MOVE OUT at the end of 2023, we collected over 8000 pounds of materials. Items that may not be useful for students, we share with the local thrift stores in our community. Additionally, over 230 volunteer hours were served in the Share Shop initaitive for 22/23 and over 860 visits in the Fall of 2022.

In addition to our Move Out initiative we hosted a Shop & Swap at the beginning of Spring term 2023 at the center of campus that encouraged students to bring unwanted clothes to trade. The Office of Sustianbility partnered with Campus Life, Intercultural Life and LGBTQ advisor and clubs, the Theater department, and the Bastian Career Center. In the event, we hosted a Repair station that supported the repairs to make more gender affirming styles with the clothing. Through this collaboration, we were able to attract more students and help to supply more materials/clothes to all of our closets on campus (Career Closet, and the LGBTQ closet on campus).
