A brief description of the campaign:
There "There is No Away" campaign is Knox's sustainable move out waste diversion program. At the end of the spring semester, collection boxes are placed in each campus residences' common room or laundry room, and crews of paid student staff with the help of volunteers (faculty, students, and staff) collect and sort recoverable material to be diverted from the waste stream. Food and toiletries are provided to students staying on campus over the summer; clothing, household and school supplies, and other durable goods are brought to the campus' Share Shop and Office Supply Share; excess usable items are brought to local thrift organizations; and electronics, textiles, and traditional household recyclables are transported or stored for collection by recycling partners.
