Does the institution's GHG emissions inventory include all Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions?:
Yes

None
Does the institution's GHG emissions inventory include all Scope 3 GHG emissions from any of the following categories?:
Yes or No
Business travel No
Commuting No
Purchased goods and services No
Capital goods No
Fuel- and energy-related activities not included in Scope 1 or Scope 2 No
Waste generated in operations No

None
Does the institution's GHG emissions inventory include Scope 3 emissions from other categories?:
No

None
A brief description of the methodology and/or tool used to complete the GHG emissions inventory:
Knox has comprehensive energy usage inventories for all buildings from 2006 to 2013 and inventories for the core campus (which makes up 90% of all energy usage) from 1999 to 2013. Data from 2009-2010 was used for a GHG audit, using the "Clean Air - Cool Planet Campus Carbon Calculator"

None
Has the GHG emissions inventory been validated internally by personnel who are independent of the GHG accounting and reporting process and/or verified by an independent, external third party?:
No

None
A brief description of the internal and/or external verification process:
---

None
Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions::
Performance Year Baseline Year
Scope 1 GHG emissions from stationary combustion 6,882.90 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent 5,764.10 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent
Scope 1 GHG emissions from other sources 114.60 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent 116.30 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent
Scope 2 GHG emissions from purchased electricity 5,685.70 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent 7,073.70 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent
Scope 2 GHG emissions from other sources 562.30 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent 699.60 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent

Figures needed to determine total carbon offsets::
Performance Year Baseline Year
Institution-catalyzed carbon offsets generated 0 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent 0 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent
Carbon sequestration due to land that the institution manages specifically for sequestration 1,100 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent 1,100 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent
Carbon storage from on-site composting 30 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent 0 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent
Third-party verified carbon offsets purchased 0 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent 0 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent

None
A brief description of the institution-catalyzed carbon offsets program:
---

None
A brief description of the carbon sequestration program and reporting protocol used:
Carbon sequestration is calculated for the ~640-acre forest at Green Oaks. We used the value of 1,060 pounds of carbon/acre/yr (from USDA Forest Service General Technical Report WO-59 August 1992) Page 39; then converted C to CO2

None
A brief description of the composting and carbon storage program:
In 2012, compost of most pre-consumer cafeteria materials began (approximately 30 tons/year). 100% of campus landscaping waste is composted either on or off-site. (Since this assessment was conducted, the school has increased composting efforts to include all pre- and post-consumer food in sit-down dining establishments.

None
A brief description of the purchased carbon offsets, including third party verifier(s) and contract timeframes:
