Approximately 36 different species were identified in the area. Most belonged to the grass, shrub, moist meadow, and tree planting families.

Our ecology professor surveyed the natural area adjacent to our student residence building using a nested quadrat beginning with a size of 25cmx25cm and eventually expanding until it reached a size of 20mx20m.

The swale area is an intentionally developed wild habitat area of approximately 1 1/2 acres located on King's University owned land. The area is a unique niche that was developed in the 1990s and contains plants and wildlife that are distinct to this area.
