Graduates in the following programs were included: Environmental Studies (major); Geography (minor); Biology (major and minor); Chemistry (major and minor); Economics (minor); Education (Elementary and Secondary); Micah Certificate; Politics, History and Economics (major); Political Science (minor). These programs were chosen because they all require courses within the sustainability focused and inclusive list.

Several programs that also include a sustainability focus could not be tracked amongst graduates because they are not included on transcripts. These include the Environmental Management and the Non-Profit and Social Entrepreneurship advising streams in the Business program, and the Justice Fellowship (https://www.kingsu.ca/research/micah-centre/justice-fellowship)

For example, the Environmental Studies Program developed the following student objectives in its 2019 program review and ECO Canada Re-accreditation:

The mission of the Environmental Studies program is to enable learners to explore God’s creation, discover how humans should and do interact with creation, and equip them for a vocation to faithfully exercise humanity’s responsibility for creation care.
Specific learning objectives and learner outcomes include:
1. Developing a framework of caring for creation rooted in a Christian perspective
a. Outcome: able to distinguish various theological and philosophical
viewpoints on the human-environment interrelationship and articulate their
own faith-based or ethical framework
2. Grounding Environmental Studies in interdisciplinary knowledge and critical thinking through a liberal arts and science based university education
a. Outcome: a critical learner that demonstrates scientific and socioeconomic understanding of environmental issues
3. Gaining specific knowledge and skills in a chosen discipline and relating that discipline to Environmental Studies
a. Outcome: can articulate and apply concepts, approaches and skills of a
particular discipline to environmental problems and opportunities
4. Discerning and applying a suite of analytical, technical and computational skills for environmental investigation (e.g., statistics, Geographical Information Systems,policy analysis, field and research methods)
a. Outcome: can select and apply appropriate approaches to collecting,
analyzing and interpreting environmental data
5. Communicating environmental information to different audiences (e.g., academic,processional, public)
a. Outcome: demonstrated writing, oral and presentation skills for
communicating environmental information using various media and
technologies
6. Integrating learning with work experience and teaching job-searching skills in the environmental sector
a. Outcome: vocation-ready graduates with internship experience and job searching skills (e.g., resume writing, interviewing) and knowledgeable
about the environmental sector and profession (e.g., EPt)
