A brief description of the institution’s sustainability partnerships with the local community:

This institution is a part of a consortium of Educational Facilities across Alberta, Canada that purchases power and natural gas in bulk. 5% of the power purchased by this community of Schools and Universities is in the form of wind power.
Via our Micah Center we have our community garden. The community garden is divided into plots and the plots are lent out to community members during the growing season.
The Micah Center has adopted the Millennium Development goals which came out of the UN's Millennium Development Summit held in New York City in Sept/ 2000. One of the goals is to create global partnerships for development. One of the ways that Kings Micah Center has done this is by drilling sustainable wells in Honduras. The King’s University College partners with the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee, the Northern Alberta Diaconal Conference, and Diaconia Nacional (Honduras), to make the project possible each year.
