Committee members are working to advance sustainability at King’s by researching the most effective methods to conduct annual environmental audits, working to integrate campus sustainability into all aspects of the university’s strategic plan, and researching external funding opportunities.

The sustainability coalition (committee is a committee composed of Rob VanWeerden (the Director of Facilities), Michael Ferber (Director of Environmental Studies and Assistant Professor of History), John Wood (Dean of the Natural Sciences), Harry Fernhout (President), 2-3 students and various other stake holders.

A brief description of the sustainability coordinator’s position:

The Director is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a sustainability program encompassing various areas of the University College out of his office. This includes developing and maintaining a utilities consumption and cost management program for the purpose of promoting stewardship of fiscal and environmental resources, implementing environmental and cost saving measures where deemed prudent. These responsibilities are included in the Director of Facilities job description.
