We estimate as much as 125,000 pounds of food debris is transported from our dining facility to our composting facility each year. It is be processed with chipped woody debris from campus, certified by the OEPA and used as mulch or as top dressing for athletic fields. Since this program came online in 2008, we have purchased zero processed mulch.
