Kent State University utilizes recommended best management practices to reduce the impacts of pollutants in storm water. Some of these include green roofs, bio-retention swales, permeable pavement, detention basins and retention ponds.

The University has a stormwater management plan as required for our MS4 stormwater permit. All the terms and conditions of the MS4 permit which expired in Sept. 2019 are still valid. The State has yet to complete the new general permit.
