Open Access Kent State (OAKS) is Kent State University's Institutional Repository, a platform for the preservation and promotion of the academic output of our multi-campus system. The purpose of OAKS is to publicize, disseminate, and preserve the scholarly work of Kent State University scholars and affiliates in an open access environment for the purpose of shared knowledge and learning. Maintained by Kent State University Libraries, OAKS highlights the scholarship at all of Kent State University’s campuses and locations and offers the ability to search by discipline and discover full-text scholarly work.

A brief description of the open access journal hosting services:
Open access journals may be hosted on the Open Access Kent State (OAKS) institutional repository platform. The OAKS platform includes Open Journal Systems (OJS) software to support the submission, review, and publishing workflows for editorial staff of open access journals. The editor or responsible person for a journal must sign a Memorandum of Understanding which establishes terms, roles, and responsibilities of the journal’s editorial staff and of library staff who manage the hosting platform. Library staff assist journal editors free of charge. The server is locally hosted by Kent State University Information Technology and managed by University Libraries.
