The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment conducts a "Campus Climate" Survey every two years; the most recent completed in 2014. The results of this survey along with best practice information guide policy, programs, and initiatives.
In addition, the College engaged in a campus-wide discussion and deliberation to develop "Collegewide Learning Outcomes," which include a commitment to Intercultural Competence (http://www.keene.edu/academics/liberal-arts/outcomes/).

The Office of Diversity and Multiculturalism engaged in a strategic planning process using the following methodology: "Using data from the Keene State College campus climate survey and research associated with “best academic practices”, plans such as the Strategic Plan of Inclusive Excellence and Student Success at Keene State College have been established with the three priorities in mind. These data driven plans will provide a systematic way to evaluate effectiveness (ongoing assessment), identify areas for improvement and to make changes when necessary." A draft plan was circulated to faculty and staff for review and comment.

The findings were presented at meetings around campus and the summary presentation was posted on a shared drive offering faculty and staff access. The student newspaper, the Equinox, also posts articles on various aspects of the findings.
