A brief description of the institution’s employee community service initiatives:
In reviewing the Department Promotion and Tenure guidelines there is evidence of community engagement being rewarded as a form of teaching and learning. Employees are also encouraged to participate in direct community service through the annual KSC Community Service Day and it is build into some job descriptions. The Keene State College Strategic Plan also emphasizes Community Service in Goal 4 (http://www.keene.edu/administration/councils/planning/strategic-plan/). Staff and faculty all have a community service component as part of their Performance Evaluations. A new annual Staff Recognition Awards program also recognizes community service (http://www.keene.edu/office/marcom/cn/detail/1475188353117/). The College also is initiating a Community Service Honor Role; see http://dept.keene.edu/sl/presidents-higher-education-community-service-honor-roll-application-submitted/
