The Harris Center for Conservation Education supports undergraduate field research in environmental studies, geography, and related disciplines at Keene State College by training students in data collection methods and working with faculty to design capstone research experiences with applied conservation value. They also facilitate connections between KSC students and conservation professionals in their research and monitoring network, and offer public programs at KSC – with a focus on nature and conservation science – for the benefit of students, faculty, and the broader Keene community.

Keene State College is participating with the Ecovation Hub Leadership Team and as Co-Leaders in an effort to create an Ecovation Hub Education and Training Consortium focused on workforce development, higher education sustainability curriculum, and research for a green and equitable economy. We are presently crafting an MOU to bring together regional higher education institutions to collaborate: "The Ecovation Hub Education and Training Consortium, intended to be part of the Ecovation Hub Knowledge Center, will consist of a group of non-profit educational institutions whose mission is to establish a nationally recognized consortium of regional higher education institutions and other key partner organizations focused on community sustainability and resilience that creates new knowledge, provides training and capacity building through knowledge transfer, and demonstrates and implements different approaches in the region to serve as real-world examples. The consortium is intended to conduct research and deliver cutting-edge green building and resilient community capacity building inter-/nationally through matriculated degree and certificate programs, micro-credentialing, consulting, and other modalities." For more than 18 years, students from Keene State College’s Communicorps class have solved design problems for community organizations in the Monadnock region and Internationally. This required course in the architecture program emphasizes a team approach to solving complex architectural problems. focusing on green design, energy efficiency, and other sustainability features primarily for disadvantaged populations, giving sophomore and junior students valuable experience with real-life architectural challenges.
