A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
We used a locally developed survey, administered online. The focus of the survey is on diversity, broadly defined. The opening section is about a general sense of being welcome, supported, and safe, and it includes satisfaction items. The survey uses a 5-point Likert-type response scale (Strongly Disagree to Strongly Agree).
None
A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation (including examples from the previous three years):
The college makes the results of the survey publicly known by holding a series of informational presentations, each focused on a different aspect of the survey. The data is then incorporated into the college's strategic planning process as the various groups responsible for planning address areas needing improvement. For example, the previous survey revealed that some faculty and staff felt uncomfortable expressing their religious beliefs on campus. The Diversity Office sponsored a number of lectures and round-table discussions in response to the survey results and released a document, "Guidelines for the Respect of Religious Diversity at Keene State College". http://www.keene.edu/campus/diversity/assets/documents/religious/download/
