A brief description of steps the institution has taken to ensure that the purchasing policy, directives, or guidelines are followed :
KCC's Green Purchasing Policy states that "KCC is committed to the use and purchase of environmentally and socially responsible materials and products". It is the expectation of each administrator to follow the policy. Metrics and reports are generated periodically to support the policy. The Business Office implements the purchasing practice. The sustainability department helps the Business office establish goals, benchmarks, assessments, reporting mechanisms, etc. The role of the sustainability department is to provide the Business office with the technical support necessary to implement the practice and to assist with the implementation primarily through education-both of the Business office to get them up to speed on green purchasing and other offices/departments to follow the policy.
