Kalamazoo College owns and manages the Lillian Anderson Arboretum. The Arboretum is 140 acres of managed Prairie, Mixed Hardwood Forest, Pine Forest, Wetlands, and a Vernal Pond. The Arboretum is also a monarch way station. The Arboretum management includes trail maintenance, invasive species removal, and maintenance of prairie habitat through biannual mowing and brush removal.
