Judson has been replacing mercury filled thermostats with non-mercury thermostats. We also try to use less phosphates in the fertilizers and less corrosive salts for the winter.

We safely dispose of the following waste:
• Mercury for florescent lamps (we use a bulb eater the separates the glass from the mercury)
• We recycle old mercury thermostats
• We recycle old batteries
• We recycle used Motor oils
• We recycle used cooking grease
• We also safely dispose of unused chemicals in the science building
