A brief description of the trayless dining program:
Judson University went trayless in the dining hall 3 years ago. The university has saved considerably on water, soap, and energy without having to wash almost 400 trays 3 times a day. There is also less food waste as people can only carry so much at one time. When we used trays they would take almost everything we offered and then throw away food when they realized they took more than they could eat.
