Starting in Fall 2021, the Center for Sustainability and the on-campus Midwest Trust Center collaborated with sustainability-focused raptivist Joey Finerhyme to offer mixed-modal virtual field trips. Joey used pre-recorded content from a show at the Midwest Trust Center to put together a recorded presentations that classes (3-8 graders) would watch as part of a class assignment, then Joey and staff from the Center log in to a livestream Q&A on any topics related to the project that they deem interesting. After a quick review of material by Joey, student participants ask questions about the content, ranging from 'why are there forest fires' to 'how do you get your parents to care about this stuff,' and everything in between.
