As part of a world-class institution, Housekeeping Services takes its mission seriously, including its duty to protect our staff and the environment. The Housekeeping Services’ Green Cleaning Program is a critical part of our sustainable practices. The program involves employing environmentally preferable supplies, understanding the unique requirements of each JCCC building, and using products and practices to meet those requirements. Housekeeping Services continuously examines its entire cleaning program and implements ongoing changes in those areas that need improvement. Housekeeping Services strives to have a positive impact on cleanliness and the health and performance of the campus community."

In addition to the use of environmentally preferable products, JCCC employs ozonated cleaning equipment on 49% of its square footage.

Of the institution's uncertified building space, what percentage of floor area is maintained in accordance with an energy management or benchmarking program? (0-100):
100

A brief description of the energy management or benchmarking program:

While we do not use dashboards or other analytics tools, via our building automation system and utility, JCCC staff track and maintain extensive data on energy consumption by building to meet campus energy goals, preparing regular, comprehensive reports for the campus community.

Starting in summer 2017, we began implementation of a new building automation system for 100% of our square footage that will provide better analytics and control of our chiller plant, HVAC, and lighting equipment. This process has already shown significant cost savings and reduction in energy use.
