Presented on a panel entitled “Stronger Together: Innovative Pan-Canadian Collaboration for Environmental ImpAct” speaking about the Sustainable Campus Project Working Group (CICan's ImpAct Project) that John Abbott participates in, along with 7 other colleges.
2. Presentation at the 2022 edition of CICan's annual conference. Presented on a panel entitled "Collaborating for Greater Climate Impact: The Move toward Net Zero " speaking about the lessons learned and takeaways from the collaborative Sustainable Campus Project Working Group at the end of the funding period.

In June of 2021, the Sustainability Committee submitted a case study detailing the schools’ SDG awareness campaign, to CICan’s SDG Toolkit. This toolkit is intended for colleges across Canada to provide examples for how to integrate the SDGs in to their activities. The toolkit can be found here: https://sdgcicanguide.pressbooks.com/

A list or brief description of the board or committee appointment(s):
1. John Abbott is a member of CICan’s Campus Sustainability Project Working Group (PWG). The PWG is a pan-Canadian group that is co-creating an initiative to reduce harm to the environment to achieve long-term environmental sustainability on campuses across Canada.
2. The College is also a member of CICan’s SDG Accord Project Working Group. The SDG Accord PWG is a group dedicated to raising awareness regarding the SDG Accord, encouraging institutions to sign the Accord and providing guidance, resources, and support for signatory institutions.

3. A representative from John Abbott College sits on West Island Community Shares’ environment fund. This committee is responsible for evaluating applications for sustainability projects submitted to the community organization located in the West Island of Montreal.

A brief description of the mentoring relationship and activities:
During the 2020-2021 school year, John Abbott college participated in CICan’s new Mentorship Program. The program offers tailored opportunities for high level leadership development. It encourages mentors to share their accomplishments, their challenges and the lessons they have learned, while allowing mentees to deepen their knowledge, develop or sharpen their skills and confidence. John Abbott was paired with Bow Valley College in Calgary, Alberta. This mentor-mentee relationship focused on sharing best practices for improving sustainability at the college.
